Tiësto has revealed that he is engaged to his American girlfriend, model Annika Backes.
You might be planning on playing his songs at your dance-party reception, but now, DJ Tiësto is set to have his own! The world-renowned Dutch DJ famous for his hits "Red Lights," "Wasted," and "Secrets" is engaged to model Annika Backes. The musician, 48, made the exciting engagement announcement via Instagram on Sunday, December 3, when he shared a photo of the two kissing at a resort with the caption, “I am gonna spend the rest of my life with the love of my life.” Adorable, no?
His new fiancée shared the same image to her own Instagram account, writing, “I am the luckiest girl in the world to get to spend the rest of my life with the best man ever. I love you more than you will ever know!”
The DJ popped the question this weekend at the One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives. Naturally, the DJ was greeted with plenty of celebratory remarks from other well-known artists in the EDM community, including DJ Marshmello and former Swedish House Mafia member Ingrosso. Additionally, Dutch DJ Dyro and “How We Party” hitmakers Alessandro Vinai and Andrea Vinai shared their excitement for the newly-engaged couple by taking to Twitter share their congratulations.
